Marcelo Bielsa’s position as Uruguay coach could be in jeopardy with reports that key players have refused to play under him.
The iconic Argentine has faced scrutiny ever since Luis Suarez said he retired because of his presence.
Uruguay‘s most recent result saw a 5-1 humiliation against the USA, and a day later Biesla held a press conference to clarify his future, dismissing any tension with his players.
Yet now multiple reports claim two leading men in the squad have refused to play for the nation until the coach is sacked.
Both Sport 890 and OFI TV say Real Madrid’s Fede Valverde and Al Hilal’s Darwin Nunez have let the football federation know that they’re unhappy to continue playing under Bielsa.
