Luis Enrique’s mind games extend to his own squad.
The Spaniard is riding high after guiding PSG to back-to-back Champions League finals, but he hasn’t let up.
Returning to the French capital after knocking Bayern Munich out away in Bavaria, Luis Enrique wanted to get his squad together.
Reports in France claim that despite the squad having the day off, he invited all of the players out to a restaurant in Paris to celebrate his 56th the next day.
However, all the players arrived, but Luis Enrique did not.
It turns out that was a plan by the two-time Champions League winner, who wanted the players to have a night out relaxing by themselves without any coaching or media pressure.
Such tactics are nothing new for Luis Enrique, who is one of the few to erect a scaffolding platform at training to have a bird’s eye view.
He’s since started using drones too, to give players a tactics board style display of their movements.
On top of that, Vitinha recently revealed that the coach will often call fouls incorrectly during training matches, just to teach his players not to complain when things don’t go their way in actual games.
