Kylian Mbappe clashed with a reporter ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League match with Inter Milan.
Madrid face Inter in their European opener after losing their first match of the season against Real Betis.
After the defeat his lack of work-rate was called out by journalists, along with Vinicius Jr’s.
One reporter brought it up before the Inter tie, and Mbappe quickly snapped back.
Mbappe gets annoyed at work rate question
“Just me and Vinicius?” he replied.
“We have to improve, and that’s natural as a player. Everyone is different, and we have to do things intelligently.
“I have two different positions with the national team and here. I have to take the next step. There I’m captain, and here I’m not.
“As a player, I want to improve my perception of the game, whether we’re attacking or dominating, my emotional management…
“I’ve had several discussions with different coaches, and that has helped me a lot. There are many games in one game.”
Pressed on his relationship with Vinicius, he added: “I don’t like to compare. It’s a never-ending debate. We all have to improve in this aspect. With the ball too. But that’s life in a top-level team.”
He added: “I don’t know, it’s an opinion shared by millions. It’s the biggest club and I can’t control what’s being said.
“We have the same goal, which is to win titles. We can’t control people’s opinions. We always try to improve.”
Mbappe was then asked about Jose Mourinho’s comment that he’d rather his striker scored just 40 goals in return for a trophy.

The France captain responded: “And I’d settle for even less. Even 30.
“I’m not going to say it’s a debate for people who don’t play football, but it is an absurd one.
“If I score 40 and we’re fighting for La Liga, the Champions League, the Copa del Rey… should I stop scoring goals because if I score too many, we won’t win?
“Of course I want to win titles, but it’s not a question of choosing. You have to do both. Score goals and win titles.”
Mbappe then got irritated again about a question ‘They say Mourinho has returned to recapture the competitive spirit’.
He responded: It’s very difficult to answer a question that begins with ‘it is said.’ ‘It is said’ about whom? He’s a guy who knows how to win, inspire those around him, and motivate the entire club, his team. And win matches.”
Finally he also got annoyed with a question pointing out that PSG have won back-to-back Champions League titles since he left.
