The biggest story in the Saudi Pro League (after Cristiano Ronaldo) Karim Benzema has some answering to do.
However, the Ballon d’Or winner wasn’t keen on providing a response after his debut for Al Hilal.
Benzema scored a hat-trick after his controversial move from Al Ittihad, a swap which reportedly prompted Ronaldo to go on strike over perceived bias towards the side.
In the mixed zone after the 6-0 win over Al Okhdood, was asked why he left Ittihad and instantly got his back up.
“Want to talk about that game or this game? Talk about the game,” he said with his eyes narrowed.
Benzema then praised his new teammates for ‘fighting together’ and was asked ‘they help you more than the Ittihad players?’
“I didn’t say that,” he again responded in a grumpy tone. “I’m feeling good, it’s different my friend.”
One final question was on why he didn’t say goodbye to the Ittihad players and Benzema again fronted up.
“What? You know?” he said sharply. “You know? You know? You don’t know. Ask them.”
