Just days after having to sack one of his closest friends in football, Red Bull’s Jurgen Klopp could lose one of his most important.
The former Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool manager commissioned his first firing as Red Bull’s head of soccer at the weekend, with Rose kicked out at Leipzig shortly before the DFB Pokal semi-finals.
There’s now more bad news for Klopp and RB, with Sky Germany and Sport1 reporting that Bayern Munich are looking to bring back club legend Mario Gomez.
Gomez was an unstoppable striker at Bayern, but since 2022 he’s worked as a technical director at Red Bull, and impressed to much that Bayern want to steal him.
Bayern are looking to make a management reshuffle this summer with Ralf Rangnick linked, and he could well arrive alongside Gomez if the club get their own way.
This wouldn’t be the first time Bayern have left Klopp fuming, having stolen star players Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze while at Dortmund, and later Sadio Mane at Liverpool days before the 2022 Champions League final.
