Jude Bellingham isn’t happy with his Real Madrid teammates, and three of them in particular.
The England midfielder was selected as Madrid’s candidate to speak to the media ahead of hosting Arsenal 3-0 down in their Champions League quarter-final.
The first leg was arguably Madrid’s worst performance of the season, highlighted by some diabolical running stats from Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo.
Bellingham wasn’t asked specifically about the trio, but instead brought up running himself.
“It’s true that if you run more, you always have more chances,” he said.
“It’s said that we ran 14 kilometers less than Arsenal, which is the equivalent of one player and a little more.
“So, if we think about it logically, of course it influences the game. Of course it does. Because running more, as I say, gives you more chances.
“We have to know what spaces to cover and what it means to run one way or the other. It’s about finding the balance between knowing how to run… and running more or less.
“Tomorrow we’re going to want to run much more than at the Emirates and hopefully we’ll have a better plan, too.”
The Spanish media have speculated that he was aiming at his fellow attackers.
Coming just a few days after an alleged bust-up with Antonio Rudiger, it’s clear that Bellingham is Madrid’s new standard-bearer.
