Algeria’s Luca Zidane has admitted he’s turned to a mental coach after his disappointing World Cup opener.
The son of the legendary Zinedine Zidane switched to his grandparents’ Algeria last year, but some were wondering why after a shocking World Cup debut.

The Granada shot stopper let Lionel Messi’s opener for Argentina through his hands, and then spilt a rebound for the second before the No.10 completed his hat-trick for a 3-0 win.
Zinedine was pictured watching on in shock, and Luca has since revealed he’s turned to his long-time mental coach.
“For me, it changed my life, especially in football, because today, being mentally strong is just as important as being physically strong,” he said before facing Jordan.
Fede Valverde’s history of injuring Zidane
Luca, who came through at Real Madrid’s academy, played for France’s youth teams before making the switch to Algeria.
He also doesn’t have great memories of facing South American players, as Fede Valverde revealed earlier this year.
Asked about his powerful shot, the Uruguayan said: “I injured one or two goalkeepers.
“I injured Luca Zidane’s shoulder. I was devastated, I thought they were going to fire me. I injured Zidane’s son.
“Some goalkeepers were injured by my shots. Especially in the shoulder. I have really skinny legs, I don’t know where I get that from.”
