Terem Moffi and Jérémie Boga won’t play again for Nice after disgraceful attacks on them by club supporters.
RMC Sport claim that upon returning from a 3-1 defeat to Lorient, Boga was ‘spat on and punched all over his body’ while making his way through a crowd of fans at the entrance to the training centre.
The same outlet claim that both he and Moffi won’t play again for Nice and have filed complaints with the police.
The French league’s governing body, the LFP, have since released a statement, saying: “The LFP condemns in the strongest possible terms the acts of violence committed against the players and staff of OGC Nice.
“These totally unacceptable attacks undermine the integrity of the players and the values of football.
“The LFP announces that it will join the complaints filed by the players as a civil party, in order to fully support their efforts and to help ensure that the full truth is revealed about these serious events.
“The LFP expresses its full support for the players involved and for OGC Nice, and reaffirms its determination to guarantee the safety of all those involved in football.”
