Any chance of Hugo Ekitike using Cameroon to force a France cap has been wiped away by the nation’s head coach.
The Liverpool striker was again snubbed by France‘s Didier Deschamps for Les Bleu’s September World Cup qualifiers, despite a rapid start in England.
Rumblings have emerged that he could switch to his father’s Cameroon, but their coach is having none of it.
“I haven’t contacted him,” Marc Brys said. “He put everything into playing for France and he didn’t succeed.
“And now we, Cameroon, are his second choice? I don’t need to be a second choice.
“I need players who play with heart and not a star who thinks he can come to this country or another.”
