Harry Kane will be eating well again despite a rare slip-up for Bayern Munich.
The England captain scored twice in a 2-0 Champions League win over Union Saint-Gilloise, but should’ve had a hat-trick.
Kane was gifted his second penalty of the match in the 81st minute but knocked it off the bar for only his second penalty miss in Bayern colours.
“Thank you for that,” he said jokingly after the moment was brought up post-match.
“It’s obviously disappointing to miss, but it’s not giving me any headaches. I’ll learn from it, it’s part of the game, that’s why I practice.
“It was almost the perfect penalty, but I lifted the ball a little too much and so it hit the crossbar instead of going in.”
Kane then went on to confirm a rather amusing media report that he’s gifted a schnitzel from a local restaurant near his home in Baierbrunn for every goal he scores.
“It’s delicious,” he said “It’s my favourite German or Bavarian dish, even if some people say it’s Austrian.”
And who eats all those schnitzels? “Me, my family, or the people I have in the house.
“It’s a really nice story. I feel like it helps me get to know the people in the area.”
