Florentino Perez and Carlo Ancelotti has long been a match made in heaven at Real Madrid, but their winning partnership could be coming to an end.
Madrid had a week from hell with an embarrassing 4-0 Clasico defeat to rivals Barcelona, and then they were roundly panned for refusing to attend the Ballon d’Or ceremony after learning that Vinicius Jr would lose the crown to Manchester City’s Rodri.
Far more was expected from Los Blancos after the summer signing of Kylian Mbappe, but so far they’ve been unimpressive, and Relevo had already reported that Ancelotti is losing support after Hansi Flick showed him up tactically in El Clasico.
Now it appears that Perez‘s support may be wavering, with the same outlet claiming the president has pinpointed four key issues that are testing his patience.
Chiefly among them is Madrid’s terrible defence. Eder Militao is in poor form since his return from a long-term injury and Madrid have conceded 15 goals in 15 games this season.
Jude Bellingham is also causing concern, with the midfielder starting last season in Europe-leading goalscoring form, he’s now nowhere near the opposition box and is yet to find the net this season.
Elsewhere in midfield Aurelien Tchouameni is a cause for concern, and Perez has made it clear he’s open to offers for the France regular.
But perhaps more frustrating than all of those factors, and not just for Perez, is Ancelotti’s resistance against youth.
The Italian is affording few minutes to Arda Guler and Endrick who Madrid have forked out huge money on, and his usage looks even more bizarre considering how good the pair have been off the bench.
