The so-called ‘fake agents case’ is now in its third day and former Liverpool sporting director Damien Comolli has learned his potential fate.
The case concerns transfers that have taken place without an agent’s licence. Eight people are accused, including Toulouse director Comolli and the son of coach Christophe Galtier – John Valovic-Galtier.
A €20,000 fine and an 18-month suspended prison sentence were requested for Valovic-Galtier, the heaviest sentence when requisitions were made on Wednesday.
At the Marseille Criminal Court, the magistrate also requested heavy financial sanctions by demanding the confiscation of funds seized during the investigation.
Concerning Valovic-Galtier, more than €500,000 euros had been seized from the accounts of two of his companies, Football Avenir and then Player Agency, entities created to commit the fraud, according to the judge, Mr. Lourgouilloux.
So Foot had earlier reported that punishments for such alleged fraud could reach as much as a €1million fine, or even up to 10 years in prison.
