Given he earns €500,000 a day, it’s not too surprising that the Saudi Pro League are considering penalising Cristiano Ronaldo’s current strike.
Ronaldo has missed Al Nassr’s last two matches (both wins) over his perceived bias from the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund towards title rivals Al Hilal in the transfer market.
Yet that transfer window is now closed, and despite the fact that Ronaldo continues to train, he may again be missing for a Champions League Elite 2 match against Arkadag of Turkmenistan on Wednesday.
Now local media outlet Asharq Al Awsat (via AS) claim the league itself is considering imposing financial penalties on Ronaldo for not playing without injury or suspension.
Similarly, Nassr head coach Jorge Jesus is already being fined for missing pre and post-match press conferences.
