Bradley Barcola’s PSG future has been thrown into further doubt by reports of ‘illness’.
The French winger is the subject of a €115million offer from Liverpool, which has reportedly been rejected.
However, the transfer saga has now taken another twist with Barcola ruled out of PSG’s upcoming UEFA Super Cup match against Aston Villa.
PSG face the Europa League winners on Wednesday but won’t be able to rely on Barcola.
Barcola is out of action for PSG
L’Equipe claim ‘illness’ as the reason, but such an excuse has regularly been seen as a byword for being unavailable amid a departure.
In fact, Yan Diomande was ruled out with ‘illness’ upon turning to Leipzig after the World Cup, and then went to sign for Real Madrid a week later.
Barcola only just returned to PSG with the other French World Cup players.
PSG are set to sign Ferran Torres from Barcelona up front, further reducing Barcola’s chances of being a regular starter.
As such, he is understood to have told the club he won’t be renewing his contract which expires in 2027.

Good news for Liverpool’s pursuit of Barcola
He’s also reportedly told both PSG and Liverpool that his preferred choice is to move to Anfield after talks with Andoni Iraola.
Liverpool spent a whopping £450million last summer only to end the season trophyless.
However, they’ve shown no signs of backing down since with another intense window under their new coach.
PSG, meanwhile, are going the opposite way after their failed ‘Galactico’ era.
Since failing to win the Champions League with Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar, Paris are focusing on smaller names with potential.
Along with Torres a deal for Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki looks likely to happen.
And before all that Mika Godts is expected to sign from Ajax, another forward who will take minutes from Barcola.
Goncalo Ramos has also left for AC Milan, while PSG pulled out of the race for the aforementioned Diomande who went to Real Madrid for a club record €125million.
