The new Robbery at Bayern Munich? Well not according to Arjen Robben.
Current winger duo Luis Diaz and Michael Olise are continuing the club’s great tradition of attacking wide men, and are certainly the best since Robben’s time.
He and Franck Ribbery terrorised defences across Europe, winning a treble in 2013 among a bucket load of honours.
Diaz and Olise are a long way off, but talent wise the comparisons are certainly worthy, even after great duos like Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry.
Asked about the new ‘Robbery’ retired Dutch winger Robben said: “During my time, we were also compared to other players, and I don’t like that at all.
“Every player is unique and has their own quality, ability and personality. They are very important for the team.
“If the team is a unit, then such players can make the difference.”
Robben also commented on coach Vincent Kompany, adding: : “He also makes a really solid impression. He knows exactly what he’s doing.
“I only see what I see on the pitch, and that looks good.”
