Luka Modric has agreed a one-year deal with AC Milan according to reports in Italy.
La Repubblica report that negotiations are still ongoing but there is optimism from both sides that a deal will be signed after Modric agreed terms.
The 39-year-old is a free agent after leaving Real Madrid at the expiration of his contract.
A record six-time Champions League winner, Modric will be leaving the competition’s most successful club for its second most successful.
Only Madrid have won the competition more times (15) than Milan‘s seven.
Modric is seen as a dream signing by new Milan coach Max Allegri, and was a fan of the club as a child.
However, this isn’t a move out of sentiment, as the report adds that Modric wants to keep winning in Italy.
