Jose Mourinho continues to spend almost all of his time at Benfica’s Seixal training ground, but his latest move has earned extra praise.

The coach has barely left Benfica Campus since returning to Lisbon and Friday night was no different when he attended an academy Christmas dinner.

The 2010 European treble winner was joined by first team players Tomás Araújo, João Rego, Rodrigo Rêgo, and Nuno Félix and handed out gifts before receiving a standing ovation from the kids and staff.

Addressing the group he then said: “Without a doubt, being here with you all makes me realise that it’s a dream for everyone to reach where the older players have already reached.

“I don’t know how many years I’ll stay here, but I would very much like to continue doing what we’ve been doing in these months that I’ve been here, which is opening doors to dreams.

“We coaches have it almost mandatory to give our all for our players, but those who work here, these people are spectacular.

“Merry Christmas to everyone and your families.”
