Coming off by far the best season of his career, Raphinha is expecting the same again at Barcelona in 2025/26.
The Brazilian tore LaLiga and Europe to bits with a staggering 56 goals contributions, made up of 34 goals and 22 assists.
Now a leading Ballon d’Or candidate and Hansi Flick’s favourite player, Raphinha isn’t expecting any competition for his place in the new season.
When asked about the potential signings of Marcus Rashford or Luis Diaz in his position, he replied: “I don’t care.
“Given the importance I’ve had this season, I’m not going to say I’m an undisputed player, but whoever comes in will have to work harder than me.
“For me, the important thing is that whoever comes in works well and helps the team.
“The most important thing is to have as many high-quality, committed players as possible, and then it’s normal for each one to find their own space.”
Raphinha was also asked about big money offers from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia, but only has eyes for his current club.
“I wanted to be here. I’ve followed Barça since I was a kid, I always saw them play, I remember Ronaldinho, Neymar, the history, the titles, the atmosphere, the fans,” he said.
“I always wanted to be here and write my name in the club’s history. I’d visited the city and the stadium before, and that was my wish.”
