Carlo Ancelotti has joined Xavi Hernandez in demanding changes to the international football schedule.
The Italian’s Real Madrid side were one of a number of giants to suffer during the international break, losing Vinicius, Aurelien Tchuoameni and Eduardo Camavinga to injury.
Discussing his depleted squad ahead of a trip to Cadiz, Ancelotti said: “I think that the current schedule is not sustainable and that those who prepare it must review it.
“The only solution is to reduce the number of matches. La Liga, UEFA and Fifa can do it, but they do the opposite.”
Taking aim at France’s record 14-0 Euro 2024 qualifying win over Gibraltar, Ancelotti added: “Matches that end at 8-0 or 14-0, I don’t know if that makes any sense.”
