Endrick is still waiting on the length of his Lyon ban for kicking out at a Nantes opponent, and so are Real Madrid.
The Brazilian’s sublime start in France crashed down last time out when he kicked out at the back of a rival’s legs during a skirmish.
Reports claim OL are paying Madrid over €1million for the sixth-month loan of Endrick, but the fee is offset by the number of games he plays.
In fact, some reports claim he could even end up playing for free, but that has taken a knock with a one match ban, and even more so if his suspension is increased to two or three games.
That could save Madrid money, although their obvious priority is that Endrick plays as many games as possible.
Confirming the clause exists, OL’s technical director told RMC Sport: “There’s a structure to the deal where the more he plays, the less we pay.
“This structure is becoming increasingly common, it’s a win-win situation.”
Asked about Endrick’s red card, he responded: “It doesn’t suit us, clearly.”
What has been said about Endrick’s red card?
One of the first to respond to Endrick’s red card was Lyon coach Paulo Fonseca, who thinks the teen needs more protection.
“For me, Endrick‘s expulsion was very harsh, very harsh,” the Portuguese coach said.
“There was a foul before which was very clear. The Nantes player did not intend to play the ball, he intended to block Endrick.
“The second thing I want to say is that this is the third match where the opponents have started the game with a lot of aggression towards Endrick.
“I thought these things were a thing of the past, but the intention was clear.
“They really intended to intimidate Endrick and the referees must protect the talent of a player like Endrick.”
