Sergio Conceicao is one of football’s most competitive managers, but he showed how that can turn ugly after AC Milan’s Coppa Italia defeat to Bolgona.
Milan lost 1-0 in the final to end their season on a low note despite their Supercoppa success.
They achieved that feat in January upon Conceicao‘s arrival, but he’s now certain to depart after Vincenzo Italiano got the better of him for a first domestic trophy in 51 years.
And afterwards, Conceicao let his emotions get the better of him.
As the two teams passed each other to shake hands post-match, the former Porto coach snubbed that of Bolgona’s Davide Calabria and uttered some words to him.
Calabria gave him a slap on the back, with their history certainly not a very happy one.
Calabria was Milan’s captain and regular right back up until Conceicao’s arrival when he was dropped to the bench.
After a win over Parma in late January, Calabria complained about a substitution at full-time and Conceicao rushed onto the pitch to confront him and the pair had to be separated.
Later, Calabria was loaned out to Bologna for the remainder of the season before his Milan contract expires this summer having made over 300 appearances for his boyhood side.
