Burnley’s Marcus Edwards is considering swapping his national allegiance, reports Record.
The Portuguese outlet claims the winger, who made his name with Sporting CP, is considering leaving England who he made 42 youth team appearances for.
Instead, he could end up making his senior debut for Cyprus, the country of his mother, and FIFA’s 124th-ranked nation.
They add that Edwards is currently in Cyprus on holiday with his parents and will respond to their football federation by the end of the summer.
Edwards was expected to represent England after two Primeira Liga titles with Sporting under Ruben Amorim.
However, the call never came, and in 2025 he switched to Burnley, going off the radar for the Three Lions.
Burnley have since been relegated from the Premier League, and Edwards is the subject of a €7million offer from Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor.
