Real Madrid TV’s Jesús Alcaide may have lost his head after a 2-1 win over Valencia.
Madrid came back against LaLiga’s bottom team, but the match wasn’t without controversy as Jude Bellingham missed a penalty and Vinicius Jr. was sent off for a shove to the head of Stole Dimitrievski.
Bellingham and Luka Modric ended up completing the turnaround in stoppage time, yet the scenes as a whole left the club’s TV channel in bits.
Speaking post-match, commentator and channel director Alcaide said: “I’m speaking personally, but we have to leave this league. We have to leave this league.
“This league is disgusting. It’s rubbish, it’s rubbish.
“The refereeing establishment must be very disappointed that Real Madrid managed to beat Valencia, Medina Cantalejo [president of the Spanish refereeing committee], the refereeing system and Negreira [alleged refereeing payments].”
He then claimed that the VAR only showed part of Vinicius’ shove on Dimitrievski, claiming that the provocation was enough to rule it out.
“The provocation of Dimitrievski against Vinicius is not offered to the referee,” he claimed. “Calling Soto Grado from the VAR and only offering him part of what happened is a manipulation, a misrepresentation and a falsification of the competition.
“The ‘Negreirato’ continues in his way of acting and by obscuring things like what we have seen now.”
Attacking referees is nothing new for Real Madrid TV, who regularly make highlight packages of officials’ poor calls against them and in favour of their rivals.
In fact, Sevilla lodged a complaint against the channel in February 2024, which was supported by LaLiga.
