Rivals at club level but teammates for Brazil, Raphinha didn’t have any time at all for Vinicius Jr’s antics on Thursday night.
Real Madrid megastar Vinicius scored a huge winner for Brazil against Colombia, with his side struggling in World Cup qualifying.
The goal, which made the score 2-1 after Raphinha’s penalty opener, came deep into stoppage time, so manager Dorival Júnior naturally made a time-wasting substitution.
Vini took the invite to time waste and headed for the bench rather than the touchline, infuriating Colombia’s players.
Some of them confronted him, and Raphinha came and pushed his teammate away.
Yet when Vinicius went to take his shinpads out to waste even more time, the Barcelona captain went for him again.
Perhaps unbeknownst to Vinicius and Dorival, a booking that the winger was clearly risking would have taken him out of Brazil’s next match against their biggest rivals Argentina.
