PSG have used a public statement to attack former striker Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe ended one of the most tedious transfer sagas in football history by joining Real Madrid on June 3, and has since been speaking about a troubled season in Paris.
The France captain alleges that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was happy to leave him on the bench for the season but he was ‘saved’ by head coach Luis Enrique and sporting director Luis Campos.
He also added that: “They spoke to me in a violent way, that’s why I was sure I wasn’t going to play anymore.”
PSG have now responded via a statement to the French press agency [AFP].
“Mbappé has absolutely no class,” the club said. “Nasser Al-Khelaifi never made any decision about the team, Even Luis Enrique said it, but Mbappé says something and everyone considers it true.”
The move is the latest in a messy divorce, with AFP also reporting that PSG are withholding Mbappe’s loyalty bonus and final month’s wages, equating to around €100million. The case is now with lawyers and expected to go to court.
