While the details of Erling Haaland’s nine-and-a-half-year Manchester City contract extension are under wraps, one insider claims to know the inside scoop.
Francisco Jose Delgado of the reliable and respected Cadena SER claims Haaland doesn’t just have a break clause in the case of relegation, but also for missing out on Champions League football.
Both of these caveats aren’t based on City’s performance, but if they miss out for non-sporting reasons, more specifically, the court case between the club and the Premier League over alleged financial breaches.
Delgado adds that there are suspicions more clauses will come into play in year three of the new deal and names three clubs that are keeping an eye on things – PSG, Real Madrid and Liverpool.
