James Rodriguez has only just arrived in Mexico and he’s already catching strays.
The Colombian legend joined Club Leon for the remainder of the season after having his contract with Rayo Vallecano terminated.
The former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich star has three games and a goal under his belt already in Liga MX, but most recently was involved in a bizarre red card.
Taking on Guadalajara at the weekend, Leon’s Nicolás Fonseca was seeking the ball for a throw-in and when rival coach Oscar Garcia didn’t give it back, he shoved him.
The former Watford and Brighton coach fell back, almost down into the dugout, and instantly went for Fonseca after one of his players held him up.
Yet, in the hustle and bustle, he aimed a kick at the player, only to strike James instead.
Referee Oscar Mejía García spotted the incident and gave a red card in no time at all and Leon would go on to win the match 2-1.
