Napoli could replace Antonio Conte before even celebrating their Serie A title.
Multiple reports in Italy claim Conte has already had his head turned by his first love Juventus.
Conversations have taken place after Napoli unexpectedly beat Inter Milan to the title on Friday night in another stunning performance from Conte.
The title is Napoli’s fourth in Serie A, with their third coming in eerily similar circumstances in 2023.
Luciano Spalletti was the hero on that occasion, and then departed for the Italy national team in the following days.
It looked like the same could well happen with Juve pushing hard for Conte, and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis doesn’t want to be left surprised.
Gazzetta dello Sport claim that he already has an agreement in principle with Max Allegri.
Terms have been sorted on a two-year deal with a €6million salary.
The president and coach are said to have a great relationship, and will hope history can repeat itself, as Allegri last replaced Conte at Juve and went on to win six Serie A titles.
