Named the signing of the summer by Werder Bremen fans, Naby Keita could be gone just a year into his three-year contract.
The midfielder joined for free from Liverpool after an injury-hit stint in England.
Previous to that he was a star at Leipzig, but that hasn’t been the case back in Germany.
Injured warming up for his first pre-season game, Keita has played a miserly 81 minutes for Bremen.
That looks even worse considering he’s played 177 for Guinea at the Africa Cup of Nations.
There’s now a spot for Keita at Bremen, with Romano Schmid suspended and the African fit.
However, manager Ole Werner has said: “We see others before him.
“Because of the training displays, because of the performance.
“Naby also missed a day of training at the beginning of the week and only worked individually.
“That’s why others were ahead of him. He couldn’t train or only trained individually because he had problems.”
Kicker report that while Bremen privately ‘won’t go so far’ as planning an early exit, dissatisfaction is growing behind the scenes.
