Mason Greenwood almost certainly won’t be playing at Marseille next season.
The striker remains controversial after his 2022 arrest but has come off his best season of 26 goals in 45 games for OM.
The French side have been a disaster, though, going through three coaches and different sporting directors and presidents.
Greenwood is seen as the best option to raise cash for a rebuild, and has already agreed personal terms with AS Roma.
However, L’Equipe report that he’s now also agreed terms with Fenerbahce, showing just how keen he is to leave the Velodrome.
Greenwood agrees terms with Fenerbahce
Despite him being happy to go to either Italy or Turkey, OM aren’t budging on their valuation so far.
The outlet claims that even an offer of €30million plus bonuses won’t get a deal done.
Fenerbahce presidential candidate Hakan Safi claimed he’d agreed a deal with Greenwood along with a number of other players, but fans didn’t believe his populism, and voted for Aziz Yildirim.
Yildirim’s opening bid wasn’t accepted though, and an OM source told L’Equipe the side will be staying firm.
A source was quoted as saying: “Many suitors also think that Marseille will sell Greenwood off cheaply this summer because the club is forced to sell players, but they are mistaken.
“There are too many symbolic and financial stakes involved in this deal.”
