The Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Principality of Asturias have requested a 15-month jail sentence for a fan accused of racially abusing Barcelona’s Marcus Rashford.
The incident occurred during Real Oviedo home match against Barcelona on September 25th at the Carlos Tartiere stadium.
According to the prosecution the 19-year-old defendant hurled racist insults including the N-word at the forward when he was about to take a corner.
The scene was captured by a nearby fan and posted on social media, garnering millions of views.
Along with a 15-month prison sentence, the Public Prosecutor’s Office have requested a fine of 2,880 euros, and 2,000 euros in compensation.
