On the eve of their annual general assembly, Lyon ultra groun ‘Bad Gones 1987’ have warned John Textor against turning up.
In fact, the group also called on fans to make it clear that the former president isn’t welcome.
Textor stepped down from his role last summer after Ligue 1’s financial watchdog, the DNCG, ratified Lyon‘s administrative relegation under his leadership.
The body later reversed that call when Textor stepped down and replaced by Michele Kang who put more real guaranteed cash on the table.
Yet despite Textor’s lack of involvement inn 2026, it appears that the American will travel to the Groupama Stadium for the general assembly.
In response, Bad Gones wrote in a statement: “As a shareholder via Eagle, our bargain-basement cowboy might be present.
“While the work of the current management to climb back up the slope is underway, the idea of seeing the one who nearly sank our Club come to strut around among us is unbearable, and we hope that all lovers of the Club share our view.
“As Michel Audiard said, ‘Idiots dare everything; that’s even how you recognise them’.
“Given his track record, it is therefore quite possible that he dares to come, even though he is cornered at Botafogo and awaiting a trial in England against a U.S. investment fund to which—guess what…—he owes a lot of money.
“John Textor and Eagle must stay as far away as possible from our Club.
“Once again, his multi-ownership model is totally opposed to the values we defend, even more so when it is carried by such a swindler.
“If he were to be present, it is therefore the duty and the honour of every shareholder to make it clear to him that his place is not here, and never has been.
“Textor Out!”
