Kylian Mbappe has finally arrived at Real Madrid, at least that’s what he and Carlo Ancelotti think.
The France captain had arguably his best game yet in Los Blancos’ 4-2 LaLiga win over Sevilla, scoring and assisting as he for once didn’t look out of place in their centre-forward berth.
Mbappe already had 12 goals and two assists to his name in 22 games, but had largely looked out of place and was particularly poor in big games against Barcelona and Liverpool.
Things were different against Sevilla, though, and Mbappe said post-match: “Fede and I have scored two great goals, just like we do in Valdebebas [club’s training ground].
“The Madrid fans will be delighted with today’s game and so will we, we know each other better now and the adaptation is over, I feel very good.
“I hit rock bottom with the Bilbao game, I knew that I had to give my all with this shirt.”
Ancelotti was in agreement with his no.9, adding: “His adaptation period is over, he’s already showing a good version, but he can still improve.
“He’s recovered from his last injury and I see him more motivated, excited. He needed this time, like anyone else, but it’s over now.”
