According to L’Equipe, we may not be seeing Kingsley Coman in a France shirt for much longer.
The Bayern Munich winger played just 15 minutes at Euro 2024, and is reportedly thinking about calling time on his international career at the age of just 28.
Coman’s career has been dogged by injury, never playing more than 29 games in a league season, but he still has an incredible trophy cabinet, with the 2023/24 season the first in which he didn’t win a league title.
Yet despite his success, L’Equipe add that Coman is likely to stop playing football soon anyway due to his injury struggles.
In 2018 after a recurrence of a debilitating ankle ligament injury, Coman opened the door to retirement aged just 22.
“It was a very difficult year. When I hurt myself, it was the end of the world for me,” he told TF1 at the time.
“I hope I don’t have to relive what I’ve been through. Enough is enough. I will not accept a third operation – it will mean maybe my foot is not made for this level.
“I will then lead another life, an anonymous life.”
