Julian Nagelsmann isn’t happy with his former side Bayern Munich.
The Germany coach was sacked by the Bavarians in 2023, and is now questioning their transfer activity.
On this occasion he was specifically commenting on Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade, who has been pursued by Bayern throughout the summer, with two bids rejected.
The striker was still called up by Nagelsmann to his Germany squad, but he isn’t happy with the pressure from a transfer saga.
“I believe that such transfer drama doesn’t leave a player unscathed,” he said.
“I always find it very unfortunate that all of this is played out publicly by all sides.
“It’s bad for the player, bad for the clubs. Nobody wants to lose face, and then it gets extremely complicated.”
Nagelsmann then said he doesn’t advise players on where they should play, but essentially followed up by admitting Bayern wasn’t the best idea.
“I spoke to him twice and asked what his ideas and wishes were,” he began.
“I also gave him some advice – not where he should move, I don’t do that, but that it’s important to me that he plays.
“I told him he’s welcome to move to Bayern Munich—but also that he has to realize that with 25 percent playing time, the World Cup will be tight.”
