Luciano Spalletti isn’t a fan of crap Italian comedy.
The Italy boss has seen comedian Edoardo Mecca impersonating him on the phone, calling up unselected players to tell them they were called up for the matches against Germany.
The prank made big headlines, with some players taking it worse than others.
Besiktas’ Ciro Immobile said: “I’d be very happy, even to lend a hand in the dressing room. I’ll leave everything behind and come,” before having his heart broken.
Milan’s Davide Calabria took things better, saying: “I’m terrible, after all I’ve played zero minutes!”
But Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini phoned the Italian federation to complain, saying: “Of course I’d like to come back. I was disappointed, the call from the national team is important.”
Spalletti took a similar tone, reportedly phoning Mecca and telling him: “We’ll give this number to the police. You’re doing something you can’t do.
“I don’t give a s*** who you are. You’re calling players and talking nonsense.”
