Inter Milan should’ve saved the water.
The Serie A leaders pumped Sassuolo 5-0 on Sunday to strengthen their eight point lead over Milan (who have a game in hand), but the story was about Lautaro Martinez.
The captain scored the third of the game, which was his 171st in Inter colours.
The landmark moves him joint-third in the club’s all-time scoring list, a remarkable achievement as an Argentine who is the only non-Italian in the top seven.
In response Inter posted a celebratory video of his Inter career on Monday, but it was, as is becoming commonplace ‘AI slop’.
Not only does the Inter badge regularly change form throughout, but Martinez’s kit number somehow does from 10, to 77, then 20 and finally 23.
Comments filled the club’s social media accounts complaining, and next time it probably makes more sense to employ a video editor.
