Iago Aspas had one of the most bizarre matches of his career as Celta Vigo beat Las Palmas.
Borja Iglesias scored the only goal of the match in a 1-0 LaLiga win, but that far from tells the whole story.
Before the hour mark there were absolutely bizarre scenes triggered by an Ilaix Moriba yellow card in the 52nd minute.
Two minutes later, he lost a ball, and then went to ground to recover it and pass it to a teammate. Within the action he collided with Álex Suárez who feigned injury and referee Adrián Cordero Vega produced a second yellow and a red.
With it being one of those challenges that pundits say prove the referee ‘has never played the game’ Celta’s players stormed in feeling hard done by, and Aspas was one of them, and was instantly booked for his protests.
Then, another two minutes later, he received a second yellow for protesting again, and Cordero Vega duly reduced Celta to nine men.
So angry was Aspas with the decision, that he began waving his arm telling his teammates to follow him off the pitch.
Surprisingly, they didn’t follow him, and instead walked away with three points.
