Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has been forced to comment on reports of a Saudi Pro League offer for Harry Kane.
On Monday night German outlet Kicker claimed one of the leagues biggest clubs is preparing a ‘lucrative’ offer for the England captain, whose contract expires in June 2027.
When it was put to Eberl that a club is ‘seriously working’ on signing Kane, he responded: “I can’t comment on the rumors circulating around us that someone is preparing something.
“I can only say that we are in close contact with Harry regarding him and our success. And the other steps will follow.”
It’s been widely reported that Kane has a clause in his contract that would allow him to return to the Premier League this summer for around €60million.
Despite that, both he and Bayern have continually indicated that they want to continue their fruitful partnership.
However, Kicker report that the clause was due to expire at the end of January, but the club have allowed him an extra month to decide on a return to England, meaning we’ll have to wait even longer to hear about his future.
What has Harry Kane said about his Bayern Munich contract?
Kane was asked about his reported Premier League get-out clause in September and insisted his priority is Bayern.
“These discussions could happen, they haven’t happened yet, but if they do, we’ll just have an open and honest conversation,” he said in regards to extending his current contract.

“For me, the goal is to score the next 100 goals and hopefully even more soon.
“For Bayern Munich, yes. I feel really good here.
“I know there have been a lot of rumours. I always take it as a compliment, but the only thing I can say is that I feel good here, my family is happy.
“I’m not homesick. I still have almost two years on my contract, so it’s not like I’m in the last year and someone’s panicking.
“I’m in a good situation, the club is in a good situation, I think they’re happy with me and I’m happy.”
