Gerard Pique is always going to enjoy a Real Madrid defeat, even more so when Alvaro Arbeloa is involved.
Arbeloa lost his first match as first team coach in humiliating fashion, exiting the Copa del Rey at the quarter-final phase with 3-2 defeat to Albacete.
Streamer Spursito was commentating on the match live along with other presidents from Pique’s Kings League.
At full-time he then read out a message from the presidents’ WhatsApp group, saying: “‘Good debut, 3-2’ Gerard Piqué just posted!
“Let it be in all the national and international media!… Piqué just laughed at Álvaro Arbeloa.”
Arbeloa and Pique were two of the biggest defenders of their sides during the Barcelona and Real Madrid rivalry between Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho.
Pique called a Madrid cup loss at the time a ‘comedy film’ and got a public response from Arbeloa.
The back and forth continued throughout the years and Arbeloa once said: “My friend is obsessed with Real Madrid.”
Despite both playing for Spain at the time, Pique shut down those comments.
“I want to emphasise that Arbeloa said he was my friend, and I don’t consider myself his friend,” he said.
“He’s an acquaintance, but not a friend.”
