Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr have seen their bid to win the Saudi Pro League completely collapse with a 3-1 defeat to Al Hilal.
Nassr were four points clear of their title rivals after ten games, but are now a massive seven back after losing their head-to-head on matchday 14.
Ronaldo is yet to win a major trophy since becoming the world’s highest-paid athlete in Saudi, just the Arab Club Champions Cup, a sporadic continental cup.
And while it may have looked like he was on his way with a perfect start under Jorge Jesus, everything’s gone awry again.
Two of Hilal’s goals were from the spot, and the final in the second minute of stoppage time was from Ronaldo‘s Portugal teammate Ruben Neves.
The camera panned over to the Real Madrid great who’d been subbed off minutes earlier and he flicked his fingers while looking down the lens.
Leading Portuguese outlet A Bola claim this was a ‘stealing’ gesture – one that could well get him in trouble with the league’s refereeing body.
