Cesc Fabregas has attempted to calm the excitement around Dele Alli at Como 1907.
The England attacker signed an agreement with the Serie A side after months out of the game following horrifying revelations about his childhood.
Dele’s contract at Everton was mutually terminated, and now he’s finally set to return to full training having not played since February 2023 for Besiktas.
“He’s working off the pitch at the moment,” Como head coach Fabregas said after a huge 2-0 away win at Fiorentina.
“I don’t want to put extra pressure on him, he hasn’t played for months. From tomorrow he will be back in full swing with the group, after the personalised work of the last few weeks.”
Fabregas then gave the media a warning, pleading with the player to be given space as he may not feature this campaign.
He continued: “He needs time. Patience is needed to see him back on the pitch: please, let’s stay calm. The last few months will be used to get back in shape for next season.”
