If the Endrick hype wasn’t already big enough, Cafu has taken it even further.
The Brazilian striker will arrive at Real Madrid in the summer after signing a £60million deal from Palmeiras, and he comes with big expectations.
Rather than quell those hopes, plenty have built them up, including Brazilian legend Cafu.
The two-time World Cup winner said: “He could become our greatest hope, our star, the greatest idol of the last ten years.
“Brazil was left orphaned by idols. We did not have idols in practically any club, nor unanimous figures in the national team as is the case with Endrick, although he is still very young.
“He is a player with unquestionable technical quality, who surpasses any footballer, but he needs to be well, eager, and committed.
“He will do very well at Real Madrid, because there he will meet established but young players, like Rodrygo and Vinícius Júnior.
“And he will have a person who will be very important to him: (Carlo) Ancelotti, who knows how to work with young promises.”
