There’s surely never been so much disappointment at Rio de Janeiro International Airport.
Brazil’s team plane returned from the Americas first thing on Wednesday morning, and some fans did wait to greet their fallen heroes.
However, they were left disappointed as only Danilo took the chartered flight.
Coaches, medical staff, members of the technical committee and Brazilian federation [CBF] officials also took the jet paid for by the association.
Only one player accepts Brazil’s chartered flight
But out of the 26 players called up for the World Cup, Danilo was the only one who didn’t leave the Americas separately on his own flight for holidays.
Some media were also present, but Flamengo’s Danilo and officials rejected the chance to comment.
Danilo was scheduled to leave the airport through the Noble Hall, where the press was waiting for him.
However, the defender changed his route at the last minute and left through the main door, avoiding any contact with reporters.
The scenes couldn’t have been much different from Brazil’s departure, where the plane was ‘christened’ off the run way and broadcast live on TV.

One person did speak, coordinator of the CBF national teams, Rodrigo Caetano.
He was quickly questioned about Carlo Ancelotti’s future after a disappointing last 16 exit to Norway.
Ancelotti’s Brazil future up for debate
Ancelotti has singed until 2030, and Caetano said: “We already said after the match that continuity is, in my opinion, a starting point.
“To avoid a repeat of the previous cycle, this stability of the technical committee is a positive aspect.
“Many young players got minutes, were well utilized and even established themselves in this World Cup.
“We will start thinking about the friendlies in September and October, hoping to have a much more stable cycle than the previous one.”
He finished: “We all expected to go further in the World Cup, but the competition has proven to be very balanced.
“Unfortunately, we were eliminated in the round of 16, even with a team that was improving.
“Even so, the assessment is positive. If it weren’t, he wouldn’t have stayed or decided to continue in the position.”
