Reporter to file criminal complaint against Benfica press officer over threat to hit him ‘as many times as necessary’

Leading Portuguese news channel CMTV have announced they will file a criminal complain against Benfica press officer Goncalo Guimaraes.

They allege that the Eagles employee threatened Gustavo Lourenço, a journalist from CMTV, who will file a criminal complaint.

In recent weeks, Lourenço questioned Benfica players in public about club-related matters.

Last Thursday, in the Azores, they claim that Guimarães slapped the CMTV journalist’s hand when the latter questioned a Benfica player again.

During yesterday’s training session, in a moment captured by cameras and broadcast by CMTV on Monday night, Lourenço asked Benfica’s press officer not to hit him again.

Gonçalo Guimarães replied that he would do it “as many times as necessary”.
