Benfica and Norway attacker Andreas Schjelderup has been given a 14-day suspended prison sentence over his possession of a explicit video of minors.
The Public Prosecutor had requested 20 days of effective imprisonment for the Benfica player at the Copenhagen Court, but Judge Mathias Eike disagreed.
The judge said: “It was taken into account that this is a category 2 video, that it is 27 seconds long, that it is divided into parts and that he did not seek it out.”
Schjelderup admitted guilt and said in his testimony: “I received it via Snapchat and forwarded it to a group with four friends.
” I only saw the first few seconds, but I realized it had sexual content and involved two young people.
“As soon as I forwarded it, I quickly realized it was illegal.
“I immediately deleted it from the group and also from my phone.”
