Reports in Germany claim Thomas Tuchel’s shaky start at Bayern Munich is only getting worse.
The Champions League-winning coach arrived late last season and stumbled to a Bundesliga win after replacing Julian Nagelsmann.
Bayern went crashing out of Europe and the cup in Tuchel’s first weeks, making the switch look very questionable.
The men who employed him, Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidžić, were fired at the close of the season, and Tuchel has since begun looking increasingly isolated.
Matters have gotten worse with former Bayern CEO Uli Hoeness criticizing Tuchel, particularly over his complaining in the media.
And now it appears Hoeness isn’t the only one tired of Tuchel, with tz.de putting together a brutal report on the behind-the-scenes matters in Munich.
The report says players are unhappy with the style of play and lack of defensive cohesion, and it gets worse.
“The stars also criticize the coach’s communication,” it says.
“Tuchel is only supposed to announce personnel decisions regarding the starting eleven a few hours before kick-off – which is why those affected find it difficult to adjust to their role.
“His assistant coaches Zsolt Löw (44) and Anthony Berry (37) are the ones the players can turn to.
“Tuchel is not someone who communicates a lot, not even in one-on-one conversations.”
