Barcelona are keen to extend Frenkie De Jong’s contract, but don’t have anyone to talk to.
AS claim that sporting director Deco doesn’t want any player entering the new season with less than two years on their current deal, with De Jong’s contract expiring in 2026.
However, negotiations have quickly come to a standstill as it’s emerged the Dutch midfielder doesn’t have an agent anymore.
De Jong split with long-time agent Ali Dursun over disagreements when his Barca career was in jeopardy.
Things have now settled for him in Spain under Hansi Flick, but a deal isn’t forthcoming as he only has a lawyer in his management team who can’t negotiate a deal as he doesn’t have a FIFA licence.
Barcelona are now waiting for a partner to negotiate and plan to give De Jong a longer deal and more security, but on a lower salary.
