In Barcelona world, even good news is often chaotic, and their latest kit deal with Nike is no different.
The Spanish giants have long been in negotiations with their provider, and even threatened to leave them during a long and fruitful relationship that began in 1998.
However, Mundo Deportivo report that not only are Barca staying with Nike, but they’re set to announce the biggest kit deal in history.
Their new contract, which will override the current terms until 2028, is for 10 years and will pocket the club €90million a season.
The deal also has a €150m signing bonus taking total earnings to €1.05billion, the highest in football history.
Despite that, there’s a stumbling block. It turns out that an announcement has been delayed as Nike used the old logo of main sponsor Spotify.
Kits have now been recalled and readied for the new print, while t-shirts and lesser merchandise displaying the old logo will be put on sale for a reduced fee.
