Joan Laporta’s pursuit of Hansi Flick could have hit a snag.
The Barcelona president is understood to have the former treble-winning Bayern Munich manager top of his list of replacements for Xavi this summer.
It looked like Barca had a clear path towards the out-of-work German, but that’s now been complicated.
BILD claim that Bayern are also considering bringing back Flick.
The 58-year-old won a historic European treble in Munich in 2020, and the club would have been keen on him staying.
Instead Flick took his dream job with Germany, something which ended badly after terrible showings at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup.
Now, though, he may be reconsidering if that was the correct call, particularly with Thomas Tuchel struggling in the German capital.
Tuchel looks like he could well end the season trophyless in Bavaria, and that would almost certainly see him sacked, with Flick now a candidate to replace him.
